Accreditation & Sustainability

We believe our style of eco-tourism comes with great responsibility…

We’ve never taken for granted that we live, work, and play in a World Heritage Listed area. While we’re passionate about showcasing Ningaloo Coast and Ningaloo Reef to the world, we’re equally passionate about protecting it and preserving its unique and fragile ecosystem.

As such, we’re committed to:

  • Giving back to the environment that sustains us.
  • Respecting the ocean, the reef, and all that live in it.
  • Conducting all of our tours in an ethical manner that aligns with environmental and conservational practices.
  • Constantly seeking ways to reduce our environmental footprint.
  • Educating our guests on issues that effect the ocean, such as pollution, shark finning, sustainable fishing, and reef and marine life protection.
  • Raising awareness about whale sharks, humpback whales, and manta rays.
  • Demonstrating responsible management of business when it comes to waste and resource management.
  • Donating a portion of every whale shark and humpback whale swim to Parks & Wildlife to assist in their research initiatives.

One of the key ways we ‘give back’ is by donating our time and resources to marine science and research. We’re proud to be aligned with many of the leading organisations that support and promote conservation and protection of some of Australia’s most valuable natural assets.

Our contributions to ongoing data collection and observational recordings of various species of marine life at Ningaloo Reef and the Muiron Islands deliver valuable information towards environmental studies and research, and marine management.

We encourage and offer our guests the opportunity to get involved with Citizen Science through voluntourism by assisting us in collecting data in our environmental studies and research. This is as simple as taking photographs. You’ll get the chance to learn more about Ningaloo Reef while practicing your photographic skills, by taking pictures of various marine creatures!

We’re proud of our Eco-Plus accreditation with Tourism Australia, and our membership with:

And involvement with:

As operators of sustainable tourism, we’re continually seeking ways to take full account of our social and environmental impact by taking a holistic approach to the needs of our guests, our community, and the environment. It’s a privilege to assist in the ‘guardianship’ of Ningaloo Reef.
